There are three people Kyoya cherishes.

The first one is Fuyumi. Thanks to his sister, his childhood wasn’t so lonely or boring. 

The second one is Tamaki taught Kyoya he can surpass his older brothers. 

The third one is Haruhi. He appreciates her intelligence and he’s secretly thankful that she can through him.

Of course he likes the other members of the Host Club, but Fuyumi, Tamaki and Haruhi are special to him.

When Anne, Tamaki’s mom, met Haruhi for the first time, she fussed over her son’s girlfriend. The fussing went from tucking Haruhi into bed when she slept over to combing her hair. Anne didn’t mind doing these motherly activities because of what she had heard about Haruhi from her son. Haruhi didn’t mind all the attention because it made her remember things about her mother that made her really happy.

Once on a break from college, Haruhi ended up in the emergency room for her appendix that was causing her pain. When she found out she needed surgery for it and would be in the hospital for awhile, she became antsy. Tamaki came and instantly picked up on her antsy-ness. He made sure to do everything that was possible to get her calm while the nurses got her ready.

When she woke from the surgery, Tamaki wasn’t there but the rest of the host club was. Honey and Mori started rubbing her feet once she woke up. The twins held her hands, and Kyoya called her dad and allowed him to talk to her over the phone. Then Tamaki returned and the others backed away from her. Haruhi watched him as he took off his shoes and climb into bed with her. Having him laying next to her made her forget about all of her bad memories of hospitals, and that was something that Haruhi didn’t mind.
